This inbox is for editorial work. If you want to write about a spritz, a vermouth, a snack method or a verifiable producer, you are in the right place. If you want a table for Friday, you are not — we cannot book a room we do not run.

What to send

A useful pitch is short:

  1. The question the piece will answer in the first sentence.
  2. Why an Australian reader needs it.
  3. The primary sources you already have (IBA, producer, public guideline).
  4. A sentence listing what you will not invent.

A useful correction is shorter: the URL on this site, the sentence that is wrong, and the primary URL that fixes it.

What we will not commission

Venue lists presented as current. Award round-ups. Price tables. Anonymous quotations. Rewrites of the old restaurant archive. Anything that treats readers under 18 as an audience for alcohol.

The form

The form below posts with the FormSubmit AJAX endpoint. It is a real submit-on-purpose control. It is not tested by automated browsers in this project, and you should not fire it as a health check. If the form is unavailable, use the email address printed under it.

What happens after you send

A pitch is read as a pitch, not as a booking. If the idea fits, you will be asked for a draft that already contains the first-sentence answer and the links. If it does not fit, the usual reason is a missing source or a venue list. We would rather say no than rewrite your piece into a ranking.

A correction is checked against the primary URL you send. If the IBA or a producer has changed a page, we will change ours. If the change is a matter of taste — a preferred garnish, a house ratio — it belongs in a guest guide, not in a silent edit of an official measure.

House style, in one screen

For the longer masthead, read about. For examples, read one of the guides. Then use the form. Do not fire the form as a test; it is a real inbox.
